Now to the history of Poupee Millet dolls -
The design of the Poupee Millet started in Paris in 1981 when two artists, Serge Chichportich, born in Paris, France and Pablo Peres, born in Buenos Aries, Argentina, became business partners and created the idea to make "poupees".
In 1982, within a few months of having experimented with various ideas concerning the poupee design, (in a studio outside Paris), the first "poupees" were ready to be presented.
They were given the name, "Poupee Millets" because the artists decided to fill them with Millet.
Today Poupee Millets are filled with tiny resin balls, so they can be hand washed should the need arise.
Poupee Millets have become very popular because of their unique style.
No two Poupée are alike.
Each is individually handcrafted then dressed in a myriad of exotic fabric and signed by the artist.
The Poupée Millets are true works of art.
After five years in business together, Serge and Pablo decided to go their own ways. Pablo stayed in Paris to do his own poupees, although one year later he decided not to make them anymore and sold his studio.
Hence, the rarity of this particular Poupée.
She is truly one of a kind, never been on display, stored away since purchase.
There are no flaws in the doll she is truly a special piece.
