This lovely antique French coffee mill is made by the French company Peugeot Frères.
This particular model called "Model R" or "Ordinary Model" was the first coffee mill produced by Peugeot during the 1840 to 1936 period.
This mill was also called counter mill as they were use to grind all kind of other ingredients such as sugar or grains.
The model R has a body made of beech wood and it has a small oval brass plate in the front that reads "Peugeot Frères - Valentigney, Doubs".
It also has the logo engraved on the top metal part.
The grinding mechanism works very well & it is made out of cast iron and steel.
A really nice addition to your farmhouse kitchen.
It has a beautiful verdis gris look to the metal grinding attachment.
