This stunning 1920’s salt glazed kitchen canister or crock as they are often referred to is something that we don’t come across that often.
The piece has the original lid & is stamped 1 Gallon (8 imperial pints) - WC Bennett Magill Pottery.
On the lid is there is also a 1 stamped into it so it’s the original matching lid.
The glaze is uneven colour due to the old style firing & the early century aging which is very special & it can be displayed a number of ways.
This finish just shows the authenticity of a handmade piece.
There are no flaws in the item, it’s an original antique & very special find.
