
This amazing set of late 1890’s binoculars are very special indeed!
With a brass & steel eye piece the body is in a dark brown/claret leather.
The Jockey Club de Paris was a traditional Gentleman's club.
It had a name as one of the most prestigious private clubs in Paris.
A meeting place for the elite of 19th century French Society.
The club still exists at 2 Rue Rabelais in Paris.
Around the rim is etched - Le Jockey Club Paris.
These were very popular & also used by the military during WW1.
They still have their original case which is extremely rare.
The winding mechanism is perfect & there is no damage to any of the leather on the piece.
Note - Signs of wear commensurate with age as you would expect from something this old.
