The twisted linen was wound on to the spool & steam pushed through the middle to flatten the yarn/fibre.
These still have the old raw linen attached & make the best display items for your collection.

They are from the original mill in Halifax UK.
Only the 2 available, one bobbin is a mocha colour & the other chocolate underneath the fibre as shown.
